Sealed bids for the construction of the DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS FOR MIDTOWN GREEN PARK, for the City of Hattiesburg in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, will be received by the City of Hattiesburg, until 10:00 AM local time on Thursday, August 25th, 2022, at the City Clerk’s office, Mississippi, hereafter referred to as Owner, located at 200 Forrest Street, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39401, and shortly thereafter will be opened and publicly read.

The work involved in the project includes construction new stormwater drainage piping, stormwater inlets, minor earthwork, tieing to exiting drainage structures and placement of new curb and gutter at the proposed Midtown Green Park area located on Crestmont Avenue, Hattiesburg, MS as described in the Contract Documents. All documents required for bidding purposes may be obtained from Clearpoint Consulting Engineers, P.A., 6652 Hwy 98, Hattiesburg, MS, (601) 261-2609. A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 is required at the time of request for a hard copy set of Contract Documents. Electronic copies of Contract Documents will be furnished to perspective bidders at no cost upon request. A copy of the Contract Documents may be examined at the office of Clearpoint Consulting Engineers, P.A., 6652 Hwy 98, Hattiesburg, MS during regular business hours. When bids are submitted electronically, the same requirements for submitting sealed bids shall apply. Electronic bids shall be submitted online at www.hattiesburgmsbids.com and shall include a document representing the cover of the envelope containing the aforementioned criteria.

A bid bond or certified check in the amount of 5% of the bid will be required. The bid bond or certified check will be returned immediately to unsuccessful bidders. Bidders are hereby notified that any proposal accompanied by letters qualifying in any manner the condition under which the proposal is tendered will be considered an irregular bid and such proposals will not be considered in making the award.

A performance and payment bond, or equal, in the full amount of the contract will be required of the successful bidder. In lieu of a performance bond the successful bidder may post with the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, the full amount of the bid, in cash or its equivalent, conditioned for the prompt, proper and efficient performance of the contract; said cash or its equivalent to be held until the successful completion of the project.

Attention is called to the fact that contracts exceeding $50,000 require contractors to be licensed under applicable laws of the State of Mississippi and have a certificate of responsibility.

Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, material and/or supply needs.
