The City of Hattiesburg will receive sealed proposals at the City Council Chambers, Hattiesburg City Hall, at 200 Front Street, Hattiesburg Mississippi, until 10:00 am, Thursday, February 9, 2023, for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment to perform construction of Midtown Green, located at 309 Crestmont Avenue, Hattiesburg, Mississippi as described in and reflected by the plans and specifications prepared by Landarc Consulting Group, Inc., Hattiesburg, Mississippi, dated December, 2022, immediately after which time said sealed proposals shall be publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers In Hattiesburg City Hall.

It is recommended all bidders attend a Pre-Bid meeting held Tuesday, January 31, 2023, 10:30 am local time at the Site, 309 Crestmont Avenue, Hattiesburg, located across from the rear parking lot of University Baptist Church (3200 Arlington Loop, Hattiesburg) to walk the project site and answer any questions.

A single contract shall be let for the complete project.

Detailed drawings and specifications are on file and may be examined at office of the Secretary of the Hattiesburg Engineering Department, 212 West Front Street, Hattiesburg, MS.

Bidders may obtain complete sets of drawings and specifications from Plan House by going to the Landarc Consulting Group Online Plan Room at www.landarcplans.com, Plan House is located at 1A Churchill Street, (near Buffalo Wild Wings, off I 59), Hattiesburg, Mississippi 39402 Phone 601 336-6378.

Proposals shall be submitted in duplicate only upon the blank bid forms provided with the drawings and general conditions and must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a certified check or acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the base bid. Said security to be forfeited, as liquidated damages, not penalty, by a bidder who may be awarded the contract, but who fails to carry out the terms of the proposal, execute the contract and post the required performance and payment bonds in the form and amount, and within the time specified. The bid bond, or the certified check, if used in lieu thereof, shall be payable unconditionally to the City of Hattiesburg.

Bids on the project must be received on or before the time specified above, and no bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time and date for the receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. All bids submitted must comply with the requirements of Chapter 3, Title 31 (Sections 31-3-1, et. seq.) of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, and the performance of any contract shall be bonded in accordance with Chapter 5, Title 31 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.

Bidders who are non-residents of the State of Mississippi must also comply with the provisions of Section 31-3-21(3) of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.

The Hattiesburg City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities.
